Fujifilm Launches Instax Mini Evo; “Coming Soon” To Malaysian Market

Fujifilm Instax Mini Evo Malaysia

Fujifilm has recently announced the Instax Mini Evo, its latest hybrid instant camera. Specifically, not only is the device able to snap and print photos, it can also send them over digitally to your phone.

Unlike other Fujifilm Instax shooters, the Mini Evo is compact and is reminiscent of a traditional point-and-shoot camera, with a retro-esque silver and black colour scheme. Situated in front is an on/off dial switch, a flash module, a small mirror for selfies, and a fixed 28mm f/2.0 lens. Interestingly, its shutter button is also on the front of the camera, rather than on top. Helping you frame your shots is a 3-inch LCD screen on its back, accompanied by four interface buttons.

Being an instant camera, the Mini Evo can also function as an Instax Mini film printer. This means that you can print photos that are stored in the camera, as well as those from your smartphone by using the Fujifilm Instax companion app. You can also use the mobile application  to save images from the camera to your phone as digital instax prints, complete with embedded frames.

The Instax Mini Evo is set to retail at US$199.95 (~RM835) and will first be released in Japan on 3 December 2021, with the US market to follow sometime in February of next year. According to a banner in Fujifilm Malaysia’s official store on Shopee, the new camera is also expected to be “coming soon” to the local market. Unfortunately, the company has yet to announce its local pricing.
