Alleged Intel Core i7-12700H Mobile CPU Details Make Appearance In MSI Laptop

New benchmark details and component specifications, reportedly belonging to Intel’s 12th generation Alder Lake Core i7-12700H, have seemingly made their way online. More to the point, it appears that the laptop CPU was tested using one of MSI’s refreshed gaming laptops.

The MSI laptop in question appears to be the GE76 Raider model; it’s the same model we reviewed back in May this year, albeit with a 10th generation mobile Intel CPU and all its RGB glory. In this case, the refreshed laptop’s BIOS name, E17K4IMS.013, was also fingered in a Geekbench listing, that was also leaked.

In terms of performance, the 12700H scored 7158 points in the Cinebench R20 multi-core test and 689 points in the single-core test. In contrast, that’s nearly double the multi-core points of what the Ryzen 9 5900HX in a Razer Blade 14 Ryzen achieved and more than 20% the points on the single-core test. In Cinebench 23, the processor managed a score of 18501 points. Beyond that, there are no additional details about the CPU.

That said, we at least know what to expect from the 12700H, thanks to an earlier report. The CPU is expected to have a 14-cores, 20-threads configuration, made up of six Golden Cove cores (P-Cores) and eight Gracemont cores (E-Cores). As a side note, the leak also seems to fall in line with MSI’s product launch patterns; for the past several years, leaks pertaining to products belonging to the Taiwanese prior to their grand launch at the annual CES exhibition at Las Vegas have more or less been on the mark. More importantly, they also provide us with a glimpse of what we can expect throughout the rest of the year.

In any case, we’ll just have to wait until next year to see.
