Samsung Galaxy S21 FE Rumoured To Launch During CES 2022

Samsung Galaxy S21 FE Fan Edition Leaks

Word has it that Samsung may finally announce the supposedly back-from-the-dead Galaxy S21 FE during next year’s CES 2022 event in Las Vegas. At least that’s what SamMobile claims in its most recent report, which cited people who are familiar with the matter.

If true, this would make the FE variant of the South Korean giant’s current generation flagship its first smartphone to be unveiled in the new year. Reason being that other rumours suggest Samsung’s next generation line up, the Galaxy S22 series, would only launch by either late January or early February. On that note, CES 2022 is slated to be held on 5 to 8 January.

While most from unofficial sources, it is believed that the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE had been in development hell. Perhaps the most likely reason for its rumoured delays and cancellation is the ongoing chip shortage, which has been affecting the production lines across various tech and even automotive markets across the globe. Rumoured to be released with either a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset or Samsung’s own Exynos SoC in different markets, it would be unsurprising if the manufacturing of the unannounced smartphone is indeed going through a tough time procuring the necessary semiconductors or components needed.

Choosing to debut the FE just weeks before the launch of its next-gen flagships would be a peculiar move for Samsung. Given that the company has missed several opportune release windows due to the phone’s rumoured development troubles, it appears that Samsung is left with no other choices if it intends to launch the Galaxy S21 FE once and for all. Whether this would be the case or not, we’ll only find out when CES 2022 arrives by early next year.
