Rockstar Confirms Existence Of Grand Theft Auto Trilogy Remaster

Grand Theft Auto trilogy remaster

Not too long ago, Take-Two Interactive told investors that it is working on three remasters. Later reports indicate that they will all be the Grand Theft Auto games from the PS2 era, namely Grand Theft Auto 3, Vice City and San Andreas. Now, Rockstar Games has confirmed that it is indeed remastering the three games.

The publisher made the announcement on its own website, which came with some additional detains as to what the remasters will be like. To start, they will be part of what’s called the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition. Beyond the excessively long name, it will also feature across-the-board upgrades of the graphical and gameplay variety.

But in preparation for the remaster trilogy’s launch, Rockstar says that it will be removing existing versions from digital stores. Which is a strange decision to make, considering the publisher plans to do so next week.

Despite taking out the old versions so early, neither Rockstar nor Take-Two have said when the Grand Theft Auto remaster trilogy will be released. When it happens, it will be available for both generations of both consoles, the Nintendo Switch, as well as the Rockstar Games Launcher on PC. This will presumably happen by the end of the year, since the publisher says that it is also releasing the remaster trilogy on iOS and Android in the first half of 2022.
