Predator 4K Gaming Projectors Are The Newest Addition To Acer’s Lineup

Acer Predator GD711 Projector

Acer has unveiled two new projectors in its line of Predator gaming devices for bigger and more immersive home gaming. Launched during the next@acer 2021 event last night alongside the Predator Orion 7000 desktop, the Predator GD711 is a smart LED 4K projector with a wide range of throw-sizes.

Powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor and 2GB of DDR4 RAM, the GD711 can project an image up to 300 inches in size. Acer says not to worry if you don’t have that much space on your wall and living room as it can go all the way down to 74-inches at a distance of 2 metres.

Being a gaming-oriented projector, the GD711 has variable refresh rate capability and is able to deliver up to 240Hz for PCs as well 120Hz for consoles, though both are capped at 1080p. With a brightness level that tops out at 1,450 ANSI lumens, the projector also has a 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio and supports HDR10 contents.

Additionally, the GD711 also has two HDMI 2.0 ports, an audio-out port, three USB-A ports, a built-in 10W speaker and an antimicrobial remote control. Also ships with a built-in Aptoide TV app store, Acer claims that the projector’s lamp should last up to 20,000 hours on standard mode and 30,000 hours on ECO mode.

Meanwhile, Acer has also revealed the Predator GM712 which is a lamp-based variant of the 4K projector. It has all the gaming capabilities of the LED model but with a significantly brighter rating of 3,600 ANSI Lumens although the projected lifespan of its lamp is much shorter at 12,000 hours in Extreme Eco mode and a much lower contrast ratio.

In China, both the Predator GD711 and the Predator GM712 will come out in November for CNY11,999 (~RM7,742)  and CNY11,999 (~RM7,097) respectively. As for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, the GD711 will be released in December for EUR1,499 (~RM7,216) and the GM712 will land in January 2022 with a price tag of EUR1,399 (~RM6,734).

Unfortunately, there’s no word on whether the projectors will be coming to the Malaysian market.
