Intel Give First Ever Look At Alder Lake CPU

If some of you are still looking for proof that Intel’s launch of its 12th generation Alder Lake is getting closer, the chipmaker has just saved us the trouble. Gregory M Bryant, Executive Vice President and General Manager at Intel gave the world its first official look at CPU’s front and back.

The image was tweeeted via Bryant’s official Twitter account, accompanied by the message that the CPU is coming soon to PCs. To be fair, the picture isn’t the most detailed shot of the processor that we’ve seen to date – that honour goes to popular leakster Yuuki_AnS – but considering that this is coming from one of Intel’s higher-up, it is at the very least a confirmation of the CPU’s LGA1700 form factor.

Moreover, Bryant’s hashtag #IntelON also confirms that the CPU lineup will indeed be making its debut during the Intel Innovation event that is scheduled to occur from 27 to 28 October. This also confirms that the initial 4 November date that’s been floating around is very likely when all NDAs and embargoes for the lineup ends, and when tech reviewers will be allowed to publish their findings on the CPU.

Intels’ 12th generation Alder Lake was announced alongside its ARC Alchemist GPU during its Architecture Day. As previously reported, the chipmaker’s next-generation CPUs will be based on its 10nm, Enhanced SuperFIN, Intel 7 process, and will run using an asymmetrical pairing of Performance Cores (P-Cores) and Efficient Cores (E-Cores). Additionally, the lineup will be the first in the industry to support the DDR5 memory standard, as well as PCIe 5.0.
